Week 3: James 1:5
'If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.'
It can be hard sometimes to go to someone and ask for something when you do not feel worthy to receive it. Often we can condemn ourselves because of bad decisions we have made or because we haven't removed something from our lives that we know in our heart isn't good for us to hold on to.
God doesn't expect you to be perfect to go to him. He wants you to come to him just as you are, because His love for you isn't conditional. So go to him as you are today. Open up to him. Be honest with him. Be vulnerable with him. Out of all the places you can go to spill your heart out, your space and time with God is THE SAFEST and GREATEST place you could ever go, because he delicately holds your heart in his hand, and he will do EVERYTHING to keep you; we see this with the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
This Week's Reflection
Go to your mirror today, look in your eyes and affirm yourself. Say "God loves me just as I am. I will not allow my thoughts of myself to stop me from going into my space with my Father, because he accepts me. He wants me. He loves me.
